We are very proud to share our new project in Ghana in collaboration with Compassion for Humanity (C4H) Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to educating and supporting children in rural areas of Ghana. Founded by C4H, Compassionate Kids school offers education and health support primarily to children of low income households (children of farmers), school dropouts, street children and orphans in Adawso-Akuapem, near Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The school provides after-school support such as assistance with schoolwork and daily meals in addition to the regular school curriculum. Due to limited funding, the school has been facing difficulties in procuring materials to effectively teach the children. Some children also cannot afford these materials and therefore, come to school with no exercise books and textbooks. Sometimes without pen and pencils to write.
Our project involves funding the costs of teaching and learning materials for the school, children, and teachers and provide them with workbooks, textbooks and other stationary to help them develop better motivation towards learning.
Additionally, we will cover the tuition fees, uniforms, shoes, daily meals, health insurance and other learning materials for 20 orphaned children who attend the school. The youngest of these children is 5 years old and the oldest is 13 years old.
We truly believe that equipping every child with the necessary materials goes a long way in empowering them, their future and their community. We hope that you are all as enthusiastic as we are about this new project!
This project is supported since June 2020 thanks to the online crowdfunding event co-hosted by Pieter Nieuwland College in Amsterdam. We’re very grateful for their support.
