Many children in the village of Kabare in the South Kivu province in DR Congo are victims of witchcraft accusations which often lead to them being neglected by families or in the worst case, set on fire. The ones that are lucky to be taken in by kind-hearted community members or relatives are also sometimes left to their own peril due to poverty.
Programme for the Well-being of Children (PwC) as parts of its efforts to support the well-being of vulnerable children, has identified 150 children in Kabare in need of school supplies such as school uniforms, shoes, bags and stationery in order to attend school.
For this project, we are funding the costs of school uniforms and shoes for these 150 children. The remaining school supplies are being funded by another organization. This project is part of a larger school rebuilding project in South Kivu which we also help fund. Read more about the project under projects.
